Patient care is an interdisciplinary
process that focuses on the care recipient within the context of family,
significant others, and the community. Patient care typically includes the
services of physicians, nurses, and members of other health disciplines as
needed, such as physical, occupational, and respiratory therapists,
nutritionists, psychologists, social workers, and others. Each of these disciplines
brings unique perspectives and expertise to the table. Specific cognitive
processes and therapeutic techniques vary by discipline, but there are some
commonalities in the delivery of care across all disciplines.
In its most basic form, the care process begins with data collection and assessing the patient`s current status in relation to normalcy criteria or expectations. Diagnostic labels are applied using discipline-specific cognitive processes, therapeutic goals are identified with timelines for evaluation, and therapeutic interventions are chosen and implemented. The patient is reassessed at regular intervals, the effectiveness of care is assessed, and therapeutic goals and interventions are continued or adjusted as needed. If the reassessment reveals that the patient no longer requires care, services are discontinued. similarities in the delivery of care In its most basic form, the care process begins with data collection and assessing the patient`s current status in relation to normalcy criteria or expectations.

run smoothly, that the right people are in the right jobs, that people
understand what is expected of them, that resources are used efficiently, and
that all departments work in a common direction. Objective Hospital
