Interior Professional Design

Interior Professional Designing

Interior design is the art and science of enhancing the interiors, sometimes including the exterior, of a space or building, to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the end user. The career of interior designing and architecture is for those people who are passionate about design and are artistic. Since this career involves designing homes/properties, and then executing those designs to create the environment that the client wants, the person should have excellent management and communication skills, as well as be creative with his/her work.

There are many areas that the interior designer may want to specialize in such as residential (houses, flats, canal boats, and anywhere else used for domestic accommodation), workplaces (includes factories, offices, and any number of other settings), temporary exhibition designing (museums, galleries, and a wide range of other private and public settings), commercial (includes retail shops and shopping malls, warehouses, conference centers), leisure (cinemas, theatres, and gyms), hospitality (hotels, restaurants, pubs, cafes, and nightclubs), education (schools and universities), healthcare (local health centers, hospitals, nursing and care homes, and private clinics).

An interior designer needs a broad range of skills because he or she has to work with not only homeowners, but also builders, architects, government agencies and business owners.

Skills You Learn

EXIN helps its students understand the designs, technologies and techniques to design spaces effectively by developing and integrating trends in interior designing.

With the wide variety of live design projects, presentations, field works, laboratory work, research papers, seminars and symposiums, students demonstrate a good understanding of the various components of interior designing.

They develop an expertise in creative thinking, analysis, technical skills and know how necessary to operate successfully in the fashion industry. Students are taught to interpret and perceive different phases, trends and fashion cycles.

The skills that the students learn at EXIN will help them as they set out on their respective professional career paths. They are trained to acquire an entrepreneurial approach to the profession of interior designing.

The education approach of EXIN integrates technical, functional, theoretical, materials, aesthetics, and creative processes of design, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking.

The curriculum structure at EXIN has been established from the foundation to produce interior designers with a fresh approach who can articulately assimilate in the domestic and international industry while implementing their creative stamp globally, either as part of fashion houses or as entrepreneurs.

The students of EXIN are strongly encouraged to develop their own informed and creative approach, taking into account contemporary research, present industrial, architectural and interior design practices.

EXIN believes learning stimulates best in an open-ended environment where students and faculty work as peers. As such, the education in the interior designing courses has been designed in that way. This encourages students to learn the various facets of design, ranging from its basics, theory and its criticism, materiality, etc to its evolvement in a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure.
