Changing The World, Together.

Residential (House / Flat / Bunglow)

Architects have an important job: building structures that will fulfill people's needs .They should also be   structurally safe and sound.  One can create the greatest building in the world, but nobody will use it if the inside is a mess. Interior design is an integral part of architecture which focuses on creating interior spaces that make the building both functional and appealing from the point of view of aesthetics.

One of the biggest arenas for designers is residential design, or the interiors of spaces in which people live. This may include houses, apartments, and anywhere else where people reside. The architect may build the house, but it's the designer's job to make it livable and a perfect home.

Residential interior designers coordinate the interiors of homes, and their job is very different than someone who designs something like a bank or a commercial center. Interior design is always a matter of balancing aesthetic and function.  A residential designer's primary focus is creating a livable space.

Residential designs needs to be comfortable and useable. Residential needs tend to be focus on smaller groups and relaxed atmospheres and the interior designers needs to ensure that the colors, lighting, furniture, appliances, temperature, and general layout meet the needs.  The interior needs to be livable.

Designers and Architects

Residential interior design is focused on livability. Designers and architects must work closely together. The architect works closely with a designer whose sole job is planning the interior aesthetic. A single residence may utilize multiple designers who each specialize in one area of living: the kitchen, the bedrooms, home offices, etc.

One needs to take into account certain factors while designing the interior of a building. Does the designer envision a more open interior feel?  They may suggest removing non-essential walls and adding more windows for natural lighting. Does the designer want a more intimate feel? Lower ceilings, fewer windows, and tighter spaces will work in such a case.

The designer's job is to manage architectural features in order to ensure the appropriate balance of private versus public space. All residences require both. Public spaces, like dining rooms or living rooms, tend to feel open and airy. Facilities should be provided for that. Private spaces, like bedrooms, tend to be more intimate and enclosed. Interior designers work with architects to ensure that the physical building balances needs of living.

What You Learn

The balance of private and public spaces has to be taken into consideration .This means that interior designers need to know how to divide space within a residence. This should be done with architectural features like walls and windows, and is a matter of aesthetic design.

Bedroom-Every single room in home is important. Each one should communicate a specific message and evoke a particular vibe. The bedroom is the place for ultimate relaxation. When decorating bedroom, one need to keep these very important factors in mind. It doesn’t matter what particular style or taste one has because everyone wants to feel relaxed and at ease in the bedroom.

Colours, soft furnishings, textures, flooring and furniture are taught at EXIN and how they would allow one to create a serene and tranquil restful haven for slumber-time.Colours are mood enhancers, and choosing the right one for your bedroom can actually determine the quality of one’s sleep. Greens and blues prove to be excellent as bedroom colours. Green has an association with nature and possesses a healing quality. Blue is soothing and serene. Lilac is a calming colour that has a stress reducing effect. It works very well in feminine styled bedrooms.

Luxurious and cushy carpets work perfectly well in the bedroom.  Comfort is an obvious plus with carpets, although there are some drawbacks to consider. Carpets are dust traps and have to be cleaned regularly.  If one prefers the look of hardwood flooring, one should be sure to invest in good quality area rugs. They can help to soften the look of the bedroom and add warmth. Tiles are another option, and work especially well in hot climates. Vinyl and laminate flooring are also options which are worth considering for the bedroom.

Accessories help to bring out the personality of room. They can even serve for a bedroom makeover, and allow one to spruce up one’s room in between decorating. Accessories add the finishing touches to bedroom designs and reflect individual character. Soft furnishings are perfect for the bed room. They  add  comfort, style and colour. Beautiful cashmere throws are luxurious and warm. Striking prints are great bedroom décor ideas and work to integrate art and sophistication. Scented candles add a nice touch and woven baskets provide storage and work well with natural, rustic and eclectic styles.

There are so many bedroom decorating ideas that one can incorporate into the design. Placing bed at an angle adds charm and character.  Mirrored, built in wardrobes, are excellent small bedroom ideas. They are perfect space savers and the mirrored panels create the illusion of extra space. Beds with storage space are also perfect for smaller bedrooms. Shelving units can free up floor space and are a great place for books, lampshades and picture frames.

Dining Room-There are a few words to remember when styling the perfect living room. It should be harmonious, elegant and individual. The ideal room will always fit in with the taste and personality of the people who will be using it. By mixing expert advice with individuality, one can come up with the perfect design for their needs.

One can find inspiration in the magazines one read, the homes one visit and the dreams one have. When styling larger rooms, use of space is crucial. Strategic use of carpets, furniture and decoration can create spacious, balanced rooms that are a pleasure to spend time in. When dealing with cozier living rooms, it’s about giving the impression of space. One should select clever colour schemes for the walls, add textures with bricks or tiles, and find the right balance of furnishings .One can also fine-tune the mood created by the room from exciting, vivid colours and decorations to cool, pastel tones that relax the mind.

This is a vital question for creating the right atmosphere and mood. A living room is a space where people will spend plenty of time, so it makes sense to find exactly the right mood. For smaller rooms, white walls or pastel tones will be appropriate. Anything bolder will create a cramped impression.

Floor types range from stone to wood and tiles. A rug or carpet will create a surface that is deliciously soft for the feet during the colder months. In cooler climates, one can have a soft furnishing to add some extra comfort. A high quality wooden floor could be perfect in your living room.

What living room design is right for me-This depends mainly upon the mood that you want to create within living room.  For people who may be moving home in the future or who often experiment with interior design changes, a minimalist style living room may be ideal.

There are plenty of great living room decorating ideas that one can have in mind. In smaller rooms, one can make the most of the space available by installing the televisions in a wall-mounted cabinet. One should not go overboard on decoration. One should try to manage the amount of seating space so that people can move around easily. Many people also like to include a decorative focal point like a mirror or painting to round off their rooms. It gives a sense of harmony to the whole design. Flowers located around the room add to a light, organic effect. EXINIANS are taught that balance and harmony are key at all times when designing a living room.

Accessories can be the finishing touch to any living room, but how they are used depends upon the style being created. A modern or minimalist Scandinavian style living room will include a few accessories. The great thing about accessories is that they can be easily moved or completely replaced. One should   experiment to one’s heart’s content to create the perfect living room arrangement.
